Visualize Your Success

Are you able to maintain a positive attitude regarding your career prospects? When you are in a job interview do you REALLY believe you are the best candidate for the job? If you doubt yourself or your abilities, it’s nearly impossible to impress the interviewer(s) enough to want to extend you an offer.

You must visualize your success in order to bring about the results you seek in your job search. Visualization involves creating a mental picture of your goal and holding on to a firm belief that it will be achieved. Negativity can sabotage your efforts, so you must learn to eliminate these thoughts as soon as they enter your mind. This will not always be easy, but well worth the effort.

Think about and write down all the details of the job you want. For example: What type of position are you looking for? Are there specific companies you are targeting? Would you be willing to make a lateral move to enhance your skillset? How far are you willing to commute? Do you want to work from home? Are you willing to relocate to further your career? How much money do you need to make?…and so on.

Spend a few minutes each day in this practice. Find a time and place where you will not likely be disturbed. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see immediate results. Once you start to believe your ideal job is within reach, new possibilities will appear and obstacles will dissolve. When you allow the power of visualization to work for you . . . anything is possible.
